We took our family of 9 here, and many of them were trying sushi for the first time. The waitress was super sweet and the chef gave us double portions with our first order. They also gave us extra Miso Soup. We all wanted more Crazy California rolls so we ordered 2 more rolls, and the chef again gave us double what we asked for! The chef also made something special for us before we got our second order, some kind of fried shrimp with special sauce, and everyone loved it. They went above and beyond! Everyone loved it. If I could give extra stars here I would. These people deserve it. Outstanding service and food! ~ Kate B

We came in for the first time last week and were left speechless! We ordered 3 Maki rolls (Caterpillar, Sunset, and the Scotland) and a 10 piece Sashimi platter with Salmon and Yellowtail. Absolutely stunning presentation! So beautiful! The Maki rolls were magnificent! And the Sashimi was premium and utterly delicious. We have never seen or tasted or seen Sashimi this big, flavorful, and fresh. And the owner who waited on us was so extremely friendly and helpful to explain all of the items and make recommendations. This has become our favorite Sushi, and we plan to be back regularly! ~ Jason

Great sushi restaurant in town! We stopped by on a Friday evening with a few friends - there was plenty of parking and no wait. They offer a variety of fresh sushi and drinks, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Corey was our server and he was very attentive and provided us with great recommendations. We started with the miso soup, tried various nigiri sushi, specialty rolls, hand rolls, sashimi... Our favorite was the O Toro sashimi, which was so fresh and buttery. We moved out of town recently but we’ll be back when we visit the area! ~ allthingskriss

Tucked away in a small shopping mall, you will find an extraordinarily good restaurant featuring top quality sushi and sashimi offerings at a reasonable price. Their selection is quite good and the service was on point. Well timed but not ever-present. When we went there was no wait, but their indoor seating is limited, as typical for most good sushi restaurants. Portion sizes were generous and their plating was gorgeous. If you haven't visited, make a point to do so soon. You're missing out on a hidden gem. ~ Brian M

I always stop by SkyBay Sushi whenever I come to Costa Mesa. The sushi here is super fresh and delicious every time! The owners are so kind and friendly. It makes the whole experience even better. This time, they gave me a special sashimi with crane saury (which I’d never had before), and it was incredibly fresh and tasty. I was seriously impressed. You can tell they really care about quality and service. If you're a sushi lover or just want to try something fresh and special, I highly recommend this place. I recently had the pleasure of dining at this sushi restaurant with a few friends of mine, and I have to say, it was an incredible experience. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. The menu we chose was absolutely fantastic. The fresh oysters were some of the best I've ever had, and the sushi rolls were creative and flavorful - not your everyday run-of-the-mill sushi. This has been my wife and I's favorite spot to come to for quite some time. Primarily because of the service. James and Jean are the sweetest family duo and truly want to make sure everything is what you want and more. Jean is always quick and attentive if you need anything. The food is always top quality and the fish is a true punch of fresh. James has some great skills and they have a good amount of variety! Thank you for your consistency and a great sushi place! The fish here was very fresh and delicious. They had a large variety on their lunch menu. We couldn't decide so we asked the chef to make whatever he recommended. It was amazing! It was better than a lot of the other sushi places in the area. The service was excellent and they were very attentive to our needs. So, I thought I had experienced it all as far as Sushi goes, but today I have to say I have had the BEST sushi ever! This was on a whole new level. The texture and flavor of the rice was amazing! The flavor of the fish and all the fusion of seasonings was absolutely brilliant and made the sushi so delicious! My salad and dressing hit the spot. I loved the salad dressing. I had a fantastic experience at SkyBay Sushi! The Ninja Roll, Ballerina Roll, and Tuna Lover Roll were fresh and delicious, paired perfectly with the sake bomb special (a pint and small hot sake). The appetizers were a great start, and the service was top-notch—our waitress was attentive, and the chef personally served my beer and greeted us warmly. Highly recommend! ~ f h

This place was my favorite since it was called Fushion Sushi. It gets better and better everytime I go. I love the chill ambiance, the hawaiian roll, vegetarian egg rolls, avocado bombs, and crawfish rolls. The service is absolutely amazing as well. At one point our server walked over to rotate our plate so we can easily reach the last piece of sushi. Amazing attentiveness! ~ Desiree

This is my family's favorite restaurant. Most of all, the sushi is very fresh, the plating is cool and neat, and the staff is friendly. I have no inconvenience taking my child with me. The rolls I always eat are always fresh, and the yellowtail collar is very delicious. Thank you for letting me have a fun time with my family while eating here. Best sushi in town! We love this place and go almost weekly. The prices here are better than anywhere else and the staff is very friendly. The rolls come out fast, the fish is fresh, and all the rolls we have tried are delicious. We just love everything about this place and that's why it's our favorite sushi restaurant. ~ Gavin H

This is one of my favorite sushi places! The food is always delicious and the service superb. Their rolls are very tasty, and their sashimi is very fresh. They have a variety of rolls to choose from. Was going to our regular Sushi resteraunt and they were closed on Monday's, so we decided to try something new... and SkyBay Sushi was AWESOME!! They have new regular customers and we have a new favorite Sushi resteraunt! Incredible food, presentation, and staff. Give them a try next time you are craving Sushi. ~ Dave S

We were promptly sat and waited on. We ordered 2 specials for a total of 6 rolls for $80 which was a good price. The quality of the sushi was fantastic and the presentation was excellent. You can tell the staff put extra effort into the presentation. Would definitely recommend for a casual date night or when you’re in the mood for good sushi. ~ Gary

Great place with incredibly attentive, enthusiastic, and diligent staff. Reasonably priced for good and tasty food in a nice area on Newport Beach. Highly recommend the Maki Special for about $40 if you're two people. This special comes with three roles of your choice. Great restaurant overall! ~ Roland P

This is the favorite sushi spot for my wife and I. We love the staff who work here and are never disappointed with the sushi. It is a very intimate setting but they also have a couple Tv's in case you need to keep up with your favorite sporting event. ~ Refujay

OMG!! This Sushi was incredible I cannot believe how much Sushi you got and how cheap it was. If I make it back to Newport Beach I am going to live here and just eat their incredibly delicious sushi. The bento box number two is what I had and it was out-of-this-world delicious ~ doomcrewinc

Really great Sushi and really good value. We eat here at least once a week. There is a new owner and the restaurant has improved over the last owners. Many local families eat here and it is always a very good time. Family restaurant at its finest. ~ MaiKai M

This is probably one of the best sushi places in the area. Everything was so good I couldn’t decide what I loved most. The service was great and there were not many people there for lunch. I recommend if you are looking to try a new sushi spot! ~ Bekah B
